One open ID to sign in, message, share data, collaborate, play, publish, prove, sign documents, get verified, sync, connect and automate.
Your Poweur ID is your name, your inbox and your drive — in one open, cryptographic identity. Use it on our servers, your own domain or your own relay, and never ask a big-tech company for permission to exist online again.

Built on proven open standards — not a new silo
ID, messaging, data. Cleverly stitched together.
Almost everything you do online is someone proving who they are, talking to someone, and working on some shared data. Poweur makes those three things open, interoperable and yours — so you can live most of your online life without renting it from big tech.
Poweur ID
A human-readable internet name backed by keys only your devices hold. Pick a name on a hosted relay, or use your own domain on a relay you run.
alice.poweur.net · carl.example.comMessaging
Signed, end-to-end encrypted messages between any two IDs on any relay — plain chat for people, typed messages for apps and agents.
E2EE · groups · receipts · typedData sharing
Every ID has a syncable home. Share any folder with any other ID, group or agent — with granular, instantly revocable permissions.
E2EE · sync · grants · linksSmall at the top. Limitless at the bottom.
Each layer uses the ones above it. Together they make things possible that none can do alone.

Apps without servers
Email is from 1971. Phone numbers belong to your carrier. Your account belongs to them.
We keep patching the same three things — an address people can reach, a login apps can trust, and a place to share files — across a dozen incompatible accounts. Poweur is one identity that does all three, and you can take it with you.

No landlord for your identity
Your ID is a DNS name plus keys you hold. No platform can suspend it, mine it, or hold your contacts and files hostage when you leave.
Reachable, not just addressable
Email delivers text to a mailbox. A Poweur ID also verifies who sent it, shares folders, signs in to apps and speaks structured data that software understands.
Private by design
Stop handing out a SIM-bound number that leaks your location, invites SIM-swap attacks and gets recycled to a stranger. Share a name instead.
Share data, files and messages with anyone who has an ID.
Type a name, not a link. Messages and shared folders travel between IDs on any relay — hosted, self-hosted or your company's — and arrive already verified.
- Contact requests and pinned keys: you decide who can reach you
- Share a folder with a person, a group or an agent; revoke in one click
- Groups, threads, attachments, read receipts and expiring messages
- Works across devices: web, iOS, Android, CLI and SDK
One ID. Everything you'd otherwise need five accounts for.
Sign in with Poweur — anywhere
Stateless challenge-response sign-in, plus a standard OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect bridge, so any app that supports "Sign in with…" can accept a Poweur ID. No passwords, no tracking pixels.
Private messaging
E2EE chats and groups between IDs on any relay, with contacts-first spam control.
Share with any ID
Folders, files and links with read/write grants and instant revocation.
Co-work and play with people & agents
Shared spaces, real-time documents and games. Friends and agents join with their own IDs, across relays, with no game server.
Social, from your friends only
A feed of updates from the people you follow, delivered as messages. You pick the order and the filters: no ads, no engagement algorithm.
Prove it's you — and it's yours
Control of a domain, a file, an account or a device, proven with signatures anyone can verify. Projects to did:web for the wider identity ecosystem.
Sign documents, send payment proofs
Sign agreements with your ID key, request and prove payments through typed messages, and price your inbox for strangers with pay-to-send.
Your website lives in your home
Publish a site from your ID's public folder, with a contact form that lands in your inbox.
Talk to the old world
Opt into [email protected]: email lands in your ID's own inbox, in a separate tray filtered by your rules.
Many devices, one ID
Add a phone by scanning a code, remove a lost laptop, restore from a recovery kit.
An app is just a folder. Your data stays in yours.
Because every user already has an identity, an inbox and a drive, an app needs no backend of its own. It signs you in, asks for a scoped grant to /apps/<app>/, keeps state in your home or a shared group folder, and talks to other IDs with typed messages.
- No servers to run, no database to secure, no user table to leak
- Open data conventions: two apps from different vendors can share one file
- Uninstall revokes the grant — the data stays with you
@poweur/clientfor browser, Node, Bun and Deno
Today you can build on sign-in, messaging and the encrypted drive; the app-folder conventions are rolling out.
import { PoweurClient, signerFor } from "@poweur/client"; import { FileKeyStore, FileSessionStore, nodeResolveOptions } from "@poweur/client/node"; // An agent with an ID of its own: messageable, accountable, revocable const keys = await new FileKeyStore().load("myagent.poweur.net"); const { signer, decryptor } = signerFor(keys!); const client = new PoweurClient({ relayUrl: "https://poweur.net", signer, decryptor, sessionStore: new FileSessionStore(), resolve: nodeResolveOptions(), }); // Signed, end-to-end encrypted, to any ID on any relay await client.send("alice.poweur.net", "Your report is ready."); // ...and read what comes back const { messages } = await client.inboxAndAck(); for (const m of messages) console.log(m.sender, m.plaintext);
Agents get IDs too.
An agent with its own Poweur ID can be messaged, trusted, granted a single folder and fired with one click. Messages and shared folders become the neutral handoff layer between people and AI — whatever model or vendor runs it.
Accountable
Every agent ID names an operator. You see who acts on your data and revoke them instantly.
Scoped
Grant one folder, read-only or read-write, for an hour or forever — never your whole account.
Ready for your tools
Coding agents like Claude Code or Codex use the poweur CLI directly, with JSON output. MCP, n8n and LangChain plug in through the SDK.

Self-host guideTwo things to click. Both are real Poweur IDs.
A bot you can message and a site that signs you in with your ID. Claim a name first (it takes a few seconds), then:
Say hello to a bot
Send it any message from the app or the CLI and it answers, end-to-end encrypted like any other conversation. Type help to see what it understands.
Sign the guestbook
A public guestbook that accepts a Poweur ID instead of an account. No registration, no password. Leave a note and see how little the site needs to know about you.
